Love is a Battlefield!

Today I want to review the bare minerals pressed foundation... O my! Where to start with bare minerals... I really have a love-hate relationship with it, I think that bare minerals was my first high end makeup purchase and I loved it. I remember buying it in high school and thinking I was really something, lol!!! The coverage was amazing my skin looked impeccable it really did give a glow, for a while anyway. I have found that I can only use bare minerals for so long and still have that glow, sometimes it makes me look awful. The last time I used bare minerals was in 2010 so it's safe to say I can go back now and get that great glow. Would it be the same with their new pressed was the question I keep asking myself. My mom wears only bare minerals and she always looks incredible. So I am so glad they brought out something new so I have an excuse to repurchase!!! ;)

Without further adieu ......

It is sooo sleek now the packaging is almost rubber feeling!!! The compact has a mirror and it's great for on the go, as of right now I love it!!! (I have only been using it a few weeks though) The coverage is great, exactly what you would expect from BE and there is no mess! If they could only do this with their warmth!!!

I am not going to rate this just yet I want to get a few months use first to see if it's more of the same...

Have you tried this yet? What is your favorite foundation?

"How To" Tuesday

Monday, October 22, 2012

Hey loves!!! It's "how to" Tuesday and it's also my 8 year wedding Anniversary (love you babe)!!!
Today I decided it's how to make your makeup stay put all day!!! I have talked a little about this before, but I figured it's something worth going into more detail with you. First off you HAVE TO use a moisturizer, that's a must.... I use my MAC oil control lotion.

The next step is to use a primer, you want to let your moisturizer set for about 60-90 seconds before applying your primer. Right now I am using the Urban Decay brightening primer potion (I will have a full review up soon.)

Wait another 60-90 seconds before applying your makeup, and that will do it your makeup should stay put.... You can also add a little finishing powder after you apply your makeup (this step is optional.)
e.l.f. has a good one at Target for $6.00 Urban Decay has a good one, TOO FACED has one and also MAC.
Now if you need your makeup to stay on extra long, special occasions or you know you are out for the night. Urban Decay has an AMAZING product that you spray on after your makeup is finished it's called all nighter and it has a staying power of 16+ hours. Really it keeps going and going! I use it on my wedding parties to make sure their makeup is in for the long haul!

It's defiantly worth a look and the large bottle (that will last FOREVER) is on sale on the UD site right now for $18.00, that's an incredible deal because the smaller bottle goes for $29.00.

What is your favorite primer and setting powder?
Well I hope this has helped you, please let me know what you think. Don't forget to keep sharing my page on facebook so we can get to the 500 likes for the giveaway!

"How To" Tuesday

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

Hey loves it's how to Tuesday.... yay!!!! This week I picked something I think we could all stand to know. Some of you might already know this, but some wont and it... This week it's how to save your cracked or broken makeup....
Now I found this on pineterest a while ago and I'm sooo glad that I did, it's so easy! I have saved so many eyeshadows and bronzers since finding this.  All you need is some broken makeup, unfortunately I went a little crazy when I found and fixed all of mine so I'm sorry I don't have a picture, lol.  So you take out your broken makeup a put just a few drops of this

70% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol in it. Then I take a paper towel and just push down on the top of the item, this with push it back together and dry it a bit. Finally you just let is sit for a few hours (I let it sit over night) and you're done! It's as easy as that, I am so sorry that I don't have pictures for this post I will update it as soon as I have another broken piece.

I really hope this has helped some of you! Did you already know about this makeup trick? What are some of your favorite makeup tricks?

Blue Suede Shoes

Sunday, October 7, 2012

Well it's officially fall, my FAVORITE time of year. The time of year to enjoy the changing leaves and weather and who can forget about pumpkin spice!!!! When I see bath & body works start to bring out the fall scents I cant help but get excited.... This year I have been feeling a little blue not just because I am in a much hotter climate then I would like for fall or away from most of my friends, although that does make me blue. I have just been in love with the cobalt blue color for fall. So naturally when I saw these beauties at DSW I could not pass them up. They are the perfect shade of blue I think even Elvis would be proud. They are buy Guess and they were $69.99, but after my discounts and rewards I think I paid $2.84.  They are so comfy for a pump too. For some reason my tootsies really agree with the Guess brand.

Really loves if you haven't liked DSW on facebook and signed up for the rewards program you should, like yesterday!!! lol... I have more shoes then I can count and have won most of them. I know your saying that you don't have time to spend entering contests. It really doesn't take that long and it is well worth the 2-5 minutes. Spending money on shoes isn't in everyone budget and certainly not in mine but who can argue with free!!! Here are some blue bangles that I'm in love with too, I got them from TjMaxx and they were now free. I paid $19.99 for them but I really so love them...

So what is your favorite fall color this year?

MAC of the Week!

Friday, October 5, 2012

Hey loves is Friday you know what that means MAC time!!!! This week I chose MAC's Viva Glam Nicki for the MAC of the week. I figure it's October and it's a perfect pink for Breast Cancer Awareness!  Here it is...

I am telling you, you will love this color! I did a wedding last weekend and ALL of the bridesmaids decided to go with this color. It only took one beautiful lady brave enough to try it and they were all hooked! It does look a little brighter on then it looks here, but it's so fun...

This is a limited edition color and you can purchase it at maccosmetics.com or wherever MAC is sold for $15.00.

Is this a color you would like to try? Do you already have this? What is your favorite pink lipstick?

'How To" Tuesday

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Red lips are so in this fall and I know that to some people are a little bit timid when it comes to wearing red lipstick. So I thought we would do a how to on red lips.  This is an easy one ladies, it requires almost nothing from me and EVERYTHING from you...  The secret to wearing red lipstick is confidence. Most of you know when you put it on you think wow this looks pretty good, but the bottom line is you aren't used to wearing it. The truth is that girl that you see in the mall wearing the bright red lips, she doesn't look any better in it then you would she is just brave enough to try something new. I'm really not even sure there is a wrong shade of red lipstick. There is one thing though well actually two, first be careful how you do the rest of your makeup while wearing red lips. I don't usually like to follow "rules" when it comes to makeup, I really don't feel like there should be rules it should be fun! However, when I wear red lips I try to do a very toned down eye look. I still load on the eyeliner and mascara, for me it's best paired with a sort of pin up look. Second, lip liner is a must! You need it to get that perfect shape.

I am wearing MAC's Ruby Woo, and a more natural eye. Here is a pic of just the lips.

Now maybe you're saying Amanda, I just hate red lips, and that's fine but remember the confidence thing goes for all lip colors. Don't condemn yourself to wearing nude lips your whole life because you are afraid to try something new. Take that first step, maybe you want a Jerseylicious pink (in that case might i suggest Saint Germain)!!! Just go out on a limb and try it, that is my challenge for you. Please leave me a comment or some pics and let me know what you try!!!

September Here's What....

Thought this would be fun and I'm totally taking the here's what from Andy Cohen, lol... Here's what I was obsessed with for September a few things anyway...

My Urban Decay Naked 2 palette... I got this late in September but I'm so in love, I feel like I'm cheating on MAC. I can't help it though the UD eyeshadows just glide on like butter!!! I purchased this from Ulta for $50.00

My Tarte Call of the Wild Eyeliner... Love this stuff so much I bought a backup, I purchases this at Ulta for $22.99. It's an Utla exclusive... I did a full review on this on my blog. The brush alone is worth the $23 bucks in my opinion.

The Falsies Mascara, so glad I tried this stuff (thanks Jess)! It is amazing and is every bit the mascara that you would get from a high-end brand (maybe more)...

My eos lip balm in Sweet Mint... Love this stuff my second favorite is Lemon, if you haven't tried it your really missing out.

Pumpkin Spice Latte, MMMMMM so good!!! I love it but I sometimes have to settle for iced, with me being in hot sunny Florida...

My Inis perfume... I love this stuff my husband first bough this for me when we were 16 and I have been buying it ever since. Such a beautiful smell great for anytime of year. I have alot of fragrances but I find myself always coming back to either this or cool water. Inis energy of the sea <3 You can get this at most Irish stores and at QVC. It's $42.00 @ QVC.com

My favorite music this month, I have been going a little old school I found my O.C. Supertones cd so I have been having alot of fun with that... Mix that in with some Adele and Sidewalk Prophets & a little bit of country I have been loving Springsteen by Eric Church...
Hope you enjoyed the first ever Here's What!!!
-xoxo
Amanda
